First Eucharist for Children

Children who are second grade and older, and who have been baptized, are eligible for First Eucharist preparation. Class begins with the Faith Formation program in October, and meets on Sunday from 9:15-10:20am. In a combined group, first and second graders learn together until Palm Sunday, which is the end of the general Faith Formation program. Second graders preparing for First Eucharist then continue their preparation until their First Eucharist celebration in early April at the Sunday, 10:30am Liturgy. In addition to Sunday classes, preparation includes liturgical catechesis. Children sit together during the 10:30am Liturgy in the front row, and are dismissed following the homily. They receive instruction that will help them understand and participate fully in liturgy. Contact: Karen Miller.
