Marketing Your Event:
Here is what we do at St. Augustine's to keep members informed and engaged, and your guide to letting us know about your event.
- On-line Parish calendar (website, under Events and Bulletin) - Review the calendar for conflicts with other events and for available space.
- Get approval from Fr. Mark, Karen, or other staff. Inquire as to whether your event falls under the responsibilities of a staff member.
- Contact Robbie Valentine (Facilities Manager), or phone (653-8631, ext # 101) to put your event on the on-line parish calendar.
- Contact Linda Prara-Jenkins (Bookkeeper) if you will make and/or spend money.
- Plan at least four weeks to advertise. Our members need time to absorb the information.
- Use all parish avenues available: Bulletin, E-Newsletter, Website, pulpit announcement, flyer, e-mail blast, on-line parish calendar, direct mail, information table after Mass.
- Announcements and flyers are edited for accuracy.
Deadlines For Announcements:
- Bulletin - (80 - 85 words). Send by e-mail to Robbie Valentine, with date, time, place, and contact, by 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
- E-Newsletter - IF you miss the bulletin deadline, you MAY, with Fr. Mark's approval, get it into the e-newsletter. Submit by Wednesday, 5:00 p.m., to Gregory Whitcomb.
- Website - Contact Karen Miller.
- Pulpit - E-mail a script to Fr. Mark Wiesner by Wednesday, noon.
- Bulletin Flyer - E-mail your flyer in Publisher or Word, to Robbie Valentine (use the Bulletin deadline).
- E-mail Blast - E-mail Gregory Whitcomb with text (no graphics) two days before the send-date. Include the send-date, target-group, subject line, and reply-to address for the e-mails.
- Direct Mail - Each month, we send 400 cards, with events from our parish on-line calendar, to new neighbors. All calendared events are in this card.
- Information Tables after Mass - Make arrangements with Robbie one week in advance, with Fr. Mark's approval. Tables must be organized, and visually pleasing.
